I believe hard times are coming for all of us, and if we prepare we will survive. We all need to be more self sufficient, and less dependent on government. The Prepper idea is good but most of us don't have the time, resource or skills to do it the proper way. I prepare the best way I can, even a little is better than nothing. Floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, tornados, plaques and many other things happen or will happen. Prepare as if you will never see another store or hospital again.

A Foot of Apple Pie

I got a recipe for "Apple Pie by the yard". I changed a little of it and this is what I got.
I will call this "A Foot of Apple Pie"
Make a pie crust for 2 crust, (this will make one big one) roll it out to fit a baking sheet, ( mine is 16 by 12 inch) grease the baking sheet, and place the rolled dough in the center.
Heat oven to 350
You will need 4 cups of peeled, cored, sliced pie Apples.(about 6 apples)
toss apples with one cup sugar, cinnamon about 2 teaspoons, and half cup flower.
Arrange coated apple slices down the center of dough you have placed on the baking sheet.
Fold one side of dough over apples then the other, It may not cover but that's ok. Then fold ends over.
beat one egg white and brush the top of your pie with the egg white.
Cook for about 25 minutes, the outside will brown fast, so keep checking that the apples are done, ya don't want to burn this. It may leak a bit but your pan will catch it.

Remove from oven and let it cool.
Mix about one cup powdered sugar, one teaspoon vanilla and enough milk to make a frosting that you can dribble over your pie.

Cut in slices and serve hot or cold.

This is good when hot, but really good the next day. the top seems to get crunchy.
