About Me

My photo
Thompson Falls, Montana, United States
I believe hard times are coming for all of us, and if we prepare we will survive. We all need to be more self sufficient, and less dependent on government. The Prepper idea is good but most of us don't have the time, resource or skills to do it the proper way. I prepare the best way I can, even a little is better than nothing. Floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, tornados, plaques and many other things happen or will happen. Prepare as if you will never see another store or hospital again.

Peaches

We have 2 peach trees, yes in Montana. They are almost 10 years old and this is the first time they have had fruit. One of the limbs got so heavy with fruit it broke off. Look at all the wasted fruit, so sad.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE

This is a Cuisinart Ice Cream maker, in my opinion the best I have ever seen. I love this little machine. The Ice Cream is sooooo good. If you freeze the pot then it only takes about 15 minutes to have soft ice cream. If you want it to be hard you will need to put it in your freezer. I like it both ways. I make it ahead of time them freeze it. I have several different kinds frozen so when company comes they get their choice.

The color of this unit is teal, they come in other colors. It looks much better than the picture shows.

You can get these through Amazon and they deliver fast!

Mason Jar Pickler
Make Pickles

You can pickle almost anything and with this device you can do it in a mason jar. I bought an expensive thing like this with a glass container. This is a fraction of the cost I paid. You can get this at Amazon, just go to my store on the right.

6  Pack Converted

I saw this on a web site and can't remember where, I also did not get the instructions of how to make it. Anyway I think it could be covered with contact paper, and I think that would be all you need to do. I am going to make one for our small guest cabin, maybe use some paper with bears or deer on it.

At one time I made natural soap, hand lotion and lip balms and sold them. I no longer sell my products and have decided to share my recipes.
This is my hand cream or lotion recipe. It is all natural, it is my own recipe.
I wanted a recipe that was easy to make, didn't require expensive equipment, no scent or color, and it had to be good for the skin.

HAND LOTION RECIPE

Makes a little less than 8 oz.

4 teaspoons Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon + 1 Teaspoon E Wax
1 Tablespoon + 1 Teaspoon Jojoba oil(clear one)
2/3 Cup WARM water( Not Chlorinated)
1 Tablespoon Germaben 2 (this is a preservative)

In a double boiler heat OLIVE OIL,JOJOBA OIL,& E WAX together until just melted.

Remove from heat; slowly pour in warm water while mixing with a whisk (if the water is cold it will harden) It will turn white.
Let this cool and add the Germaben 2.

This will be very liquid, pour into jars and let sit without a lid overnight, it will firm up slowly.

Some of these ingredients may seem to cost a lot but they will go a long way and you can make many more of these.

Don't substitute the products, they all have a purpose. If you don't use the preservative, it will only last a few days.
