Here it is the end of August and seems like there was not much summer.Maybe it is because we didn't have the extreme heat this year. It has been a nice summer but short.
I have tons of huge Walla Walla sweet onions and the tomato's are heavy and so big. Next year I will have more vegetables.
I am prepared for winter, I have my canning all done, some meat in the freezer and at hunting season we will have more, I got an cow elk tag this year from the drawing.
I made my second trip this year to the store in Missoula, Such a long drive.
My husbands Mother passed away last week, I know she was old but it still put him in a tail spin. Bruce and his son and daughter and a niece and maybe a nephew will make the long trip to Crown mountain on the other side of the state in the Bob Marshall wilderness and put her ashes there with other members of the family.
My daughter, youngest child, is recovering from surgery and I believe this will help her, stress has taken a toll on her health. When she lost her dad the rest of the family turned on her, so she has had to deal with everything alone.
Got a note from my Daughter in law saying that my Grandson is expecting a child. That will be 3 great grand children, (I started young)
I have made several batches of soap, a lavender for a special order, two batches of orange, and some lotus flowers with a small baby fairy in the middle. Soon I will start on my Christmas soaps.
I have added a picture of our unfinished wood shed. It seems to be taking a while to finish. I will have a small attic so I can store canning supplies . Also a picture of my new fire pit/BBQ. it will sit on a rock patio in back of the house, you can cook huge slabs of meat, have a big pot of beans and bake your bread in the top part, cool huh!
Our little shop has expanded or doubled in size and we are making good money with it, I know it won't stay that way during the winter.
Ahhh winter, always looking forward to the snow. I always liked the snow but didn't like driving to work in it, but now retirement lets me just enjoy.

I found a source for Black Walnuts and have purchased some. I will be making Tincture soon. Some friends have offered me some Lavender and Mint just for the picking. I have Huckleberry leaves (Bilberry leaves) dried and packaged ready for my friend with diabetes. There are so may wild herbs here, so wonderful.
