About Me

I believe hard times are coming for all of us, and if we prepare we will survive. We all need to be more self sufficient, and less dependent on government. The Prepper idea is good but most of us don't have the time, resource or skills to do it the proper way. I prepare the best way I can, even a little is better than nothing. Floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, tornados, plaques and many other things happen or will happen. Prepare as if you will never see another store or hospital again.

New find

I love herb teas and no one else but me drinks them so when I found these cute little things I bought two of them. They are Tea For One, tea pots with the cup underneath, makes one cup at a time. I have since found several on ebay, some are very elaborate and expensive, but for my little cabin this is perfect.
I have dried herbs that I drink (make a tea with) daily and the little pot lets me save on the amount I use.
I have a recipe for a salve for sore muscles or joints that really works and will work on some of that maybe during the deep winter after my surgery.
I am trying to learn more on herbs during this down time and have found some very interesting facts.
I found someone to tell me how to make torches from Mullein stalks, and next year I will be prepared for that. They say these torches not only provide light around your patio or whatever, but keeps bugs away. We don't have mosquitoes but we do have yellow jackets, wonder if it would work on bears, probably not.
