About Me

I believe hard times are coming for all of us, and if we prepare we will survive. We all need to be more self sufficient, and less dependent on government. The Prepper idea is good but most of us don't have the time, resource or skills to do it the proper way. I prepare the best way I can, even a little is better than nothing. Floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, tornados, plaques and many other things happen or will happen. Prepare as if you will never see another store or hospital again.

Shopping

we went on a shopping trip for the shop. We went to a house by the river, a beautiful spot, the house was an old log house. Very quaint and historical looking, made with all logs, there were even a few cracks in the chink where you could see outside. Reminds me of the house I was born in on our homestead, you could put your hand through to the outside.
The lady that lived there is 100 years old and had to go to a nursing home so the family was clearing out the house. When you walk in the front door there was a big room with a huge wood stove in the corner a stairway in another corner, the kitchen was in another. Then if you look up there was the bedroom, a loft. The stairs were almost straight up and hard for me to navigate because of my vision. I wonder how this little old lady ever did this? Anyway there were some real antiques here and I wasted time looking through the glass stuff until they told me it was not for sale.
We went up stairs and there was an old but quality bedroom set and a trunk. The trunk said $50.00 so I said I want this, ( would have sold for $300.00) Bruce left to haggle with the lady and I guess he talked to the wrong lady. Another woman came looked at the trunk and I was just sitting on it to preserve it for me. This woman left and bought it out from under me from the real person to talk to. I lost the trunk but we did get the bedroom set for $500.00.
I have pictures of some of the things not the bed yet. The hat, I just wanted to hang it in the shop.
The house was so nostalgic, I could just picture what it would look like in the winter snow, hummmm.
